The mission of the Otsego County Clerk and staff is to provide friendly, quality customer service to all.

Duties of the County Clerk

The Office of County Clerk is a four-year, partisan office, established by the State Constitution, and is therefore charged with many statutory duties. The County Clerk, as Clerk of the Circuit Court, has the responsibility for the care, custody, and maintenance of all Circuit Court records, and is the keeper of the Seal of the 46th Circuit Court. In addition, the County Clerk is the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners; the Jury Commission; the Board of Canvassers; the Concealed Weapons Licensing Board; and is a member of the Special Election Scheduling Committee; the County Election Commission; and the County Plat Board; is the Chief Election Official for the County; and the keeper of all vital records for the County.
