Relationship to the County Board
The County Board provides a vital housing resource to the community by granting a governing Housing Committee. The board participates in the selection of the professional housing board and staff, furnishes office space and utilities, and approves operational grants.
Support for the Housing Committee is granted from Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) – Community Development Block Grants, USDA – Rural Development, Program Income, MSHDA Property Improvement Program, and Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency Weatherization Program.
The Housing Committee and staff organize grants to provide sources of funding.
