operating budget is provided by the County general fund. The

rents, landing fees and other miscellaneous service charges.
Major improvements to the Airport, including
infrastructure and equipment, are funded through Federal and State
grants with the County providing approximately five percent of the
total costs.
Obligations
As a result of accepting these Federal grant
dollars, the County is obligated to maintain the Airport for a
period of twenty years from receipt of the grant.
Community Benefits
The latest Community Benefits Assessment provided
by the Michigan Department of Transportation indicates that the
Airport's total impact to the local economy is over four and
one-half million dollars annually.
